What a treat for New Years Day. Limited menu with much to choose from. They had a steady stream of customers yet service was no less than exceptional. I have to say the stuffed artichoke was the best I ever had. Nobody really wants to work on New Years Day but they made us feel like they were happy to be there. Truly a special find.
We come here quite often and find everything to be consistent and dependable. I have never had a bad experience at Castalia. The room has a warm,comfortable understated quality to it which after a busy week is all so needed. We have experimented with many of the weekly specials as well as ordering off their regular menu and have tasted so many delicious meals that keep up returning for more. We live in Bergen County so this is not exactly around the corner but it is definitely worth the trip.
Our second time here, we'll be back!
Lovely restaurant. This was our second time there. The food, service and ambiance have been perfect both times. This restaurant is truly a gem!
We love Castalia 997. We dine there at least once a week and the food and service are always great. The owners, Captain & Laura are a always ready to greet you with a smile and show you to your table. If you haven't been to this restaurant in a while you really need to go.
This has been my favorite restaurant for years! I now live in NC and always make sure I get there when I visit NJ at least once a year!! Anyone that I have ever brought here never had a complaint! Best place ever!!
The food was outstanding and service was great. The food an wine was very affordable. I can't wait to go back. I have already started recommending to friends and family!!
We ware surprised to find live music when we arrived. While is wasn't our genre we really enjoyed watching the other patrons dancing and singing along...great entertainment!
The food was delicious (particularly the perfectly homemade dressing on our Cesear Salads).

Absolutely our favorite restaurant. My friend requested gluten free choices and they really went out of their way to accommodate her. My husband ordered the Chicken special that he said was the best he has ever had. I had my usual, spaghetti with clams sauce which they make better than any place I know. And, of course the desserts are homemade and delicious.
I have been here many times and continue to be delighted. The service is very attentive without being overbearing, the food is superb, and the price is right!!! I find myself going to Castalia several times a month, as much as possible.

The homemade Fettucini Alfredo was spectacular! Laura's homemade desserts are worth all the calories. Ron and Laura will make you feel right at home. Highly recommended.

LOVE the new look!!! Warm, cozy, inviting and very NEW YORK!!! I ordered the steak special, which I never think to order at Castalia and it was out of this world. As good if not better than the best steak houses. They now offer baked pots which was an unexpected treat. They were very busy but honored all reservation times. Truly a special place. Will be back soon.

Truly enjoyed the evening. Could not be any better. The service was attentive yet not intrusive, the owner and his wife oversee every detail and are intuitive and available. The menu accommodates every mood and if not seen on the menu they will attempt to prepare it for you if the ingredients are on hand.

Never heard of the place before, and picked the restaurant after reading very strong reviews on this site. Food was very good, and service was impeccable anf friendly. Impressed with the meal overall, especially given the location. When the GPS led us to a strip mall in a location that was not far from a much less desirable neighborhood, we had our doubts... but happy in the end that we stuck to the plan and had a very nice meal. We'll probably go back, but find a less direct, but safer, route to take (GPS took us straight through downtown Paterson).

Food was excellent, bordering on excellent. Service was a little slow and not very attentive. Tables are small, two at a table set for four was comfortable.

Went here for my husband's birthday. From the minute we arrived to we left he felt special and appreciated. Food is awesome. Try the calamari with pepper sauce. The raspberry torte and the citrus lemon cake were awesome. This was our first time here and we will be back again. Highly recommend.
